The dust has settled and several months have passed since we made our comeback with Nimrod. Our re-released music is slowly seeping through the cracks and holes of the internet and more and more people are finding their way to our videos on YouTube and our website at www.galbatron.nl Our second project this year is called Another World, which until now had been code-named Far Far Away (a title which we found a little too reminiscent of Shrek and his friends).

“If there’s anything this track has shown us, it’s that the composing process — at least for us — is more or less impossible to steer. Our original intention was to come up with something really dark, but no matter what we tried, we always ended up with these happy-go-lucky chord schemes.”, says Eppo.

“One of the intentions that did survive was the arpeggios. Die-hard synthesizer fans love them, and besides the intro of Aldebaran we’ve never really used them. We thought it would be really cool to build an entire piece around arpeggios, which is exactly what we did”, says Loek.

The song also features two incredibly rich patches programmed by Eppo. The string patches are a mix of fine analog synthesizers and real string instruments recorded by a professional orchestra from Eastern Europe, resulting in warm and realistic pad sounds. Furthermore Galbatron used sampled sounds of the historic Wilbrand church organ located in the St. Bartholomew Basilica (Meerssen, The Netherlands). Even the authentic ambience of the basilica has been captured in a convolution reverb, adding superb realism to the sound. “We are thrilled by the crisp Barock sounds from the Wilbrand organ, which have been perfectly preserved in this digital virtual instrument”, comments Eppo.

“The whole track made us think of some fairy-like world far away with castles in the distance. Aaron managed to grasp this concept very well in the album cover, be it without the castles. Still it has this really dreamscape-like feeling which the entire track screams for”, adds Loek.

Another World will be available within 48 hours on CD Baby (www.cdbaby.com/Artist/Galbatron); the tracks should be on iTunes in 2-3 days or so. Amazon, Spotify and other sites will follow suit several days-weeks later.

Thank you so much, Juan! I'm glad you liked it.

We're currently waiting for the imminent release of Reason 6.0 (the software with which we make our music), which has even more bells and whistles than the current version. From next week or so, we'll start working on two tracks simultaneously: Eppo will resuscitate an old succesful song of ours and I'll try to come up with something really dark this time (but as you can read in the press release of Another World, I mostly fail at this ).

Thank you for your support!

A will wait for the full release in iTunes. Your new track is already on my ipod.

Best luck, you have a fan in Mexico.

I really like the arpeggios on this one! Nice work yet again! The second half has a Japanese arcade theme like Formula 1 or the Sophistication album.

If you are going back to resuscitate old songs, I would really like to hear a modern remake of Dix. That one is my favorite... well besides Robotica I and T&F... :D

Thank you Mark! You know, when we made Dix, we had no idea it would become that popular - it's not the easiest track to listen to. The thing though is that technically, the current version is about as good as it gets when it comes to arrangements and improvisations - though I totally agree the sound could use an update (did you know Dix was made on a 200 dollar sound card?)

But launching a remix just to update the sound... I don't know. It's not on our list yet, but we'll keep it in mind!
